Chen Xin
Different from the “Cruel Youth” art in 90s, Chen Xin’s works are some kind of introspectiveness, or even nervousness. It is not merely visual impact; instead, the artist wraps the female’s emotional inner world and hurts into beauty of youth. We may define it as “youth hurt”. This kind of feeling is coming from both the society and mental, reflecting the sense of art and expression of the generation after 80s. Chen Xin prefers to mentally express; she always puts some young girl characters into a small closed space, self-indulgence or helplessly looking to the outside world --- but she is independent. Feeling of uncertain or uncertain is the typical psychological description of young people. Meanwhile, such feeling is extremely touching due to Chen’s delicate and charming representation. It is not the kind of meditation or critic, but merely the description and representation. Yet she also concerns the ideological awareness of females --- surely retrospection to the independence of metropolis females in the lost society.
