Li changlong
Li changlong’s pictures are striking gin terms of people in the pictures, who hide away from the scene while closely watch the happenings on the scene, peeking and being peeked. At the same time., the scene is a vague but concrete conception for them. Vagueness enables the free creation while concrete existence greatly shocks our nerves.
Peeking and concealing, obstinacy and recreance, confusion and consistence, all of which are carefully represented by Li Changlong as the typical features of such a group of people :confused and lost., mingles with contradiction of seeking for oneself while waiting for other’s recognition. The dramatic effect of his art is strengthened by figure postures of looking up or down as well as the subtle relationship between light and main part. The trivialization of background highlights the nervous main part, which conveys his deep doubt and anxiety for breakout.
